Bodegas Rubicón is a family winery open for over three centuries. It is located in La Geria, the winegrowing area par excellence on the island of Lanzarote. With a quality recognized by international awards, its wines are sold in Europe, America, and Asia. The winery is open daily to the public and has a wine shop, museum, and restaurant for its visitors to enjoy.

The modern history of Bodegas Rubicón began in 1979 when Germán López Figueras, a great wine lover, purchased the La Geria property, which belonged at the time to the Fajardo family.

Germán acquired the property mainly for its winery, so he could dedicate himself to his passion: making wine. For decades, the winery has dedicated itself to preparing artisan wine using the facilities of the old winery: the traditional wooden presses, the stone winepress, and the cement tanks to store the wine.

With the passage of time, the vineyard’s hectares have increased, the old house and winery were restored, and the winery where Rubicon wines are produced today was expanded.

Located in the La Geria Natural Park and framed by 100-year-old eucalyptus trees, the winery solemnly faces Timanfaya National Park.

The dream of creating a unique winery that preserves the tradition of Lanzarote is a reality today thanks to Germán’s persistence.

His children, who are aware of this legacy, know that they have a commitment to the future and that is why the López-Grimón family proudly manages the historic and artistic heritage of over three centuries of history.
